Since the advent of phone cameras and the fact that they now come in higher and higher megapixel resolutions, I’ve gotten into a
rut habit of taking pics with my phone and not a camera-camera.
It’s just SO much more convenient and sometimes, faster, but of course, not as great a quality as taken from a DSLR or even a point and shoot sometimes. So, I’m going to start partaking in photo challenges again to get back into taking pics AND reacquainting myself with our good ol’ DSLR, the Canon Rebel EOS that has been pretty abandoned since we got the 7D last year. Sure, the screen is smaller and whatever else that makes it “weaker” than the 7D, but it still gets the job done 😉 I’ll also be trying to use our point and shoot – Canon Elph 300 HS.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally giving up my phone camera…how else could I capture pics such as these?
By the time I get my camera turned on and ready, I would have missed this face!
Shrimpie's "bungisngis" face
or she would have climbed out of the pot by the time I got my camera!

Here are the cards the girls made for Father’s Day…
Beans making her card:
Razz making her card:
Finished Products…pretty cute, if I should say so myself.
I’ll have to take a pic of the inside of Razz’ card. I was pretty impressed w/her writing 🙂 I helped her spell and she just wrote away…
So for Father’s Day, it was really all about what pDaddy wanted to do, as it should be. The girls slept over Mama and Papa’s house Saturday night b/c pDaddy and I had datenight…which had us walking in our door past 5am. Waking up Sunday morning was painful, to say the least. I woke up at 11:15, but 6 hours was just not enough after being out all night and having some drinks. Let’s just say I have a 2 shot limit when it comes to Patron. Actually, I wasn’t hung over, it was more on the fact that I just needed more sleep, but we had to get up and at ’em to pick up the girls b/c pDaddy had a bball game at 2:30pm and Mama and Papa had to be somewhere by 5pm. I couldn’t eat and all I wanted to do was nap. Thank goodness the girls napped on the way to the bball game so we all got to nap in the van…After pDaddy’s game, we hung around and played at the playground and then headed home. My Dad came to our house and I took everyone out to eat at our local Chevy’s. I still couldn’t eat much, but finally had more than bread and water in my system.
How did you spend your Father’s Day?

Well, if that’s not the total opposite of my excitement from yesterday, I don’t know what is.
I scored passes for the taping of the GLEE Live! 3D Movie which would qualify me for free tickets, but…those passes will just sit in my Inbox. *sigh* I didn’t realize how badly I really wanted to go until I realized at 11pm last night that there was really no hope of me making it…couldn’t get a sitter. My Mum is in the Philippines. My MIL is working. My SIL (out in TX) and I were going back and forth texting each other for over an hour talking about how absolutely cool this was and she was frantically trying to come up with options for me. Point blank? pDaddy and I only trust our family to watch the girls and EVERYONE in our family (that’s in this country right now) is working. pfft…
I feel so bad losing out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. I doubt I would have made a lot of face time on film, but still, how many people do you know really go to a filming of a concert…filming of anything really. How awesome it would have been to just to see how it all works – the filming, the “ACTION!”, the “CUT!”, the “TAKE 500!” etc. PLUS, the free tickets! I’m sure they’re nosebleed seats, but still.
Oh well, it is what it is. Need to focus on the positive. I went shopping last night for Father’s Day gifts and picked up a couple of things for me…that’s for a later post. Since I won’t be sitting and cheering in a stuffy concert venue the whole day (ahahah…what? trying to make it sound worse than it is), I’ll get to make Father’s Day cards w/my girls today! My girls are still a bit under the weather, but they’ll be good enough to make some cards 🙂 It’s time to break out the Sizzix and get to crafting!
I took a chance and decided to send an email to see if I could score passes to be part of the audience for the GLEE 3D Movie filming and by golly, I got picked! I just got a reply saying I am part of the audience AND I scored free tickets to the concert for later that night. Filming is tomorrow. This poses a couple of problems:
– I’m nursing a cold.
– I need to take a day off, but took off on Tuesday (for Beans’ Pre-K Graduation) and will be taking off next Friday. Well, it is summer, right?
– I need a sitter! Who’s going to watch all 3 girls? I’ll be essentially gone for more than 12 hours!
– I want pDaddy to go with me (I have passes for 2), but I don’t know if his boss will let him b/c he was just out sick for 2 days.
– If pDaddy doesn’t go with me, hmmm…which friend should I take. Actually, I was thinking of taking my 3 year old b/c she loves singing and dancing AND I believe they perform “Firework” by Katy Perry and she LOVES Katy Perry, but I don’t think she can last that long.
Crap. What to do, what to do. But, WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Still so excited! I just hope it all works out!
I work from home, but I just couldn’t help myself from wearing my new espadrilles today. Let’s just ignore the fact that I need a pedicure and that I’m as pale as a Cullen, ok?
Anywho, I got them from VS on sale for $29.99.
I love them and the price so I got them in orange patent leather too!
Just not too thrilled about that extra space at the top…guess my feet are too wide? hmmm…oh wells, I still love them. I can’t wait to wear them out…wonder when our next date night is…hmmm…
Happy Wordful Wednesday! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted. I don’t know if I can do this on the regular, but…we shall see.
Today was the first day of summer vacation for my first school-bound girl, Beans. She just had her Stepping Up Celebration (aka PreK Graduation) yesterday…So, what’s a gal to do on her first day off? Hang out in PJs and watch some TV! Why not, tv’s not aaaaallll that bad as long as it something kiddie and not Spongebob. I mean, I like Spongebob, but there’s just not much educational value to it, ya know?
It’s been awhile since I posted so, from L-R, we’ve got: Razz (3 years 9 months), Beans (5 years 8 months), Shrimpie (almost 9 months). Hot Damn Time Flies!
