You Capture – Motion!

This week’s challenge was to capture something in Motion. I have 2 little girls so I thought this wouldn’t be such a big deal. However, it wasn’t so easy to capture “the” motion while they were “in” motion.

Take this pool picture below. I really wanted a picture of her going underwater after her jump, but I think I was too nervous and forgot to “click” my camera until she came back up…lol…She’s done this multiple times, but my heart still skips a beat.

Beans - "Jump & Dunk"

Here’s Beans again showcasing her energy at the Park on Sunday running after pigeons. I think this picture shows more of the “motion” I was picturing in my head – you know, that “blur” showing the bird’s wings all a flutter trying to escape this crazy little human girl…and her right foot mid-run…

BBQ Results

We expected a few friends over and we marinated lots of beef and pork and had fish on hand too. I made almost 50 bbq sticks and we have a lot left over of everything – except the fish. Good thing we had that fish b/c we just found out last night that one of our guests is allergic to beef AND pork. NEVER heard of that and I sure am glad it’s not me.

It sucks when people say they are coming, but then don’t make it. It makes me feel like I truly overestimated, but it’s just b/c we had a lot of missing guests. I do understand though, things come up and I’m sure lots got pretty exhausted from enjoying themselves on such a beautiful today, but still. We’ll be freezing all the leftovers and I’ll be sick of this yummy food by mid-week, I’m sure, but c’est la vie.

Today, it’s gloomy and rainy and just the total opposite of yesterday. I need to motivate or I’ll be on the couch ALL day long. I need to hit Target to get some diapies for Razz so that’ll give me an excuse to get going…

*edited to add that I forgot to hit PUBLISH on my posts this weekend!*

Swimmin’ and Grillin’ – Tuesday Lunch Edition

Swimmin' and Grillin' - Tuesday Lunch Edition

We swim and grill…a lot! Well, as much as our busy schedules and weather allow us to.

Today, I figured the girls would love a quick dip in the pool to cool off as we are feeling the summer heat (it is only the end of July). I don’t know why I don’t do this for lunch more often (I do work from home). I thought it would be great to grill first so that lunch would be ready after our swim. While grilling, the sun was shining – no beating – down on us. Sweat was dripping profusely. Once we got in the water, Mr. Sun decided to hide behind the clouds – the entire time we were in the pool. Once we went in to eat, he decided to shine on again. Go figure! I reckon Mr. Sun likes to see my white/pale legs or as my sister put it, my legs are so white I “outshine the sun!”. It’s my Sunny personality…yeah, that’s it 😉

Water Babies

My babies, they love the water! Guess they really take after us in that respect…

We attended my bro-in-law’s tiki/luau bday party yesterday and neither couldn’t wait to get in the pool and Beans didn’t want to get out. When we got there, Razz kept saying “swimming…? swimming…?”. Beans just wanted to jump in ASAP and I lost count of how many times she asked us if she could just go swim already. We finally got in and Beans wasn’t having when I said it was time to get out. She just wanted to keep kicking and lounging with her “donut ring”. She did, eventually, get out after some coercing and bribes of cake and ice cream. At least Razz said she was “all done” after a bit.

It was a great party…which almost didn’t happen. My BIL’s cousin passed away Thursday at the young age of 35. They’re saying Cardiac Arrest, but it’s still weird and unreal. I found out he had a heart murmur as a kid and took medication for it, but again, still weird and unreal. We had a moment of silence for him and continued on with the party. His mom said that’s what he would have wanted…RIP LD…
